Offensive Rookie of the year winner

Alfred Morris 1 votes
RG3 - 2 Vote
Winner RG3

I dunno what the vote composition was but I changed mine to RG3.  RG3 had the bigger influence on his team and he had better stats than Wilson - Christian.
I looked at some stats and i think that Morris is the right pick - Maceo

Adrian Peterson - 3 Votes
Peyton Manning - 1 Vote

The 2012 Pick 'Em results and Rules Explanation

Results
Sadly, the regular season of football has come to an end, and with that so does this years family Pick 'Em.  We had a great, competitive season where everyone managed to make it above .500!  Here are the results:

1st - Christian 172-84 (.672)
2nd - Bishop 166-90 (.648)
       Tammie 166-90 (.648)
3rd - To be determined
4th - Herb 166-90 (.648)
5th - Maceo 142-104 (.555)

Rules Explanation
As you can see, Herb, Bishop, and Tammie all tied with a record of 166-90, so why are Bishop and Tammie listed at 2nd while Herb falls to 4th?  Earlier in the season Herb missed a game (Week 6, Steelers @ Titans).  Ultimately everyone picked this game incorrectly, but it was determined that missing games would be one of the criteria for a breaking a tie.  The game went down as a loss for everyone, but since Herb missed one game and the rest missed none, Bishop and Tammie win the tie breaker.

"Overtime"
We've never had a tie before, so we have some options for determining how this works.  Input would be awesome and is encouraged.  The tied individuals could simply pick games by playoff round until one emerges victorious, with a final tie breaker at the end (should no one take the lead) being a coin flip.  Alternatively, the three people who are -not- involved in the tie breaker can select the games in the round that will determine the tie breaker.  This is an option because there are always an even number of games in the playoff rounds until you reach the Superbowl.  An uneven number ensures that both parties pick the same or a winner is determined during that round of playoffs.

Finally, secret choices should be considered.  Players may be tempted to drag this out for 5 weeks, believing that they have a better chance of at winning a coin flip.  However, we didn't do this for the regular season so its up to what you guys think.

Prize
Although the winner gets all of the prize, I determined that I will follow in last year's winner's footsteps (Herb) and split the money.

1st Prize - $50
2nd Prize - $30
3rd Prize - $20

Get your picks in!

Just a reminder for everyone to get your picks in before the Cowboys play the Giants on Wednesday.  Some of us prefer to use an electronic method to keep track of your picks so I went ahead and put together the week one schedule on excel.  You can find it here

Fantasy Football

Last year we talked about setting a fantasy football league for the family, so this year I took the initiative and set one up.  I've had good experiences with fantasy and I think we will too.  Everyone has now been invited to both this site and the fantasy league so hopefully we can get this up and running before the preseason is over.  Make sure to check your emails and accept the invitation.  The draft is automated so just rank your players (the base rankings are good and you should be ok) and once its draft day we'll be good to go!

Good luck everyone!

Introduction

Welcome!

Hello everyone!  The purpose of this site is to make this year's football experience a more enjoyable experience for everyone.  It will allow us to track our wins and losses far more easily, share any cool little stories or pictures that are NFL relevant, and can be used to direct us toward a fantasy league (if anyone is interested in that).

You can get started by creating a blogger account.  Let me know which email you used and I'll make you a co-author on the blog.  You can then post your pre-season predictions if you're so inclined.
